The Vandy Men’s Basketball team could be found tailgating Saturday before the football season opener versus Elon.

Vanderbilt’s John Jenkins scored a game-high 24 points on 8-of-10 shooting from 3-point range to lead the USA World University Games team past Chinese pro team New Century in an 88-61 men’s basketball exhibition win Thursday in Huizhou, China.
Jenkins hit three consecutive 3s during a 14-0 run.
The U.S. opens tournament pool play against Mexico at 5 a.m. Saturday. Other teams in the Americans’ pool are Hungary, South Korea, Finland and Israel.
Crowd favorite, Steve Tchiengang, planking in the Vanderbilt Commodores weight room during summer workouts.
Festus Ezeli, John Jenkins, Jeffery Taylor will each return to Vanderbilt next season
“After the loss in the tournament, I can’t leave on that note,” Ezeli said. “There’s no rush for me to want to leave. I want to play here with these guys, I enjoy playing for Coach Stallings and this staff, and I look forward to earning my degree.”
Brad Tinsley and Lance Goulbourne, both seniors, round out Vanderbilt’s returning starters.
